A
preacher's daughter from
Nashville,
Tennessee, JULIA RICH has performed on stages across the
Americas
and around the globe as girl singer with the World Famous Glenn
Miller Orchestra. From small town halls to
New York City, from faraway places with strange-sounding names, Rich
has sung big band music from
Iceland
to
Brazil, from
Seville's World's Fair to the Hollywood Bowl and
Lincoln
Center. 2007 marked her twentieth tour of
Japan!
Julia appears on several GMO albums
and videos and has six solo recordings
for
Cardinal Records. Rich's music, including original compositions
such as "The Irises," can be heard on radio and as a regular
feature on television's "Music Choice: Singers and
Standards." The solo spotlight has shone on Rich in such
venues as Nashville, New York, San Francisco, Tokyo, Osaka, Sao Paulo
and the Westerdaam and Crystal Harmony ships.
"This lovely southern belle has a voice befitting her name, a
style of phrasing to make any horn player jealous, impeccable diction
and just enough coquettish mannerisms to keep the audience wrapped
around her finger." (Tom Phillips - Jazz News)
